Pull Ups Ain't Just Fo' Big Boyz!


Mon- I'm not quite sure why the other people in the videos have microphones,..Tony turned them down anyway. - The guy talks while He's drinking!
This week was very encouraging- I can do 6 pull-ups (as opposed to filling 6 pull-ups...)
Tues- Plyometrics- My daughter kicked my butt and pushed me in the stream, then rolled a monster truck tire on me!!
Wed- Shoulders and arms: I did more side push ups than the world famous Drea Webber!- Try some bacon in that potato soup Fraulein!
Thurs- Christmas dinner rears it's Ugly Head!
New Protein shake recipe: 2 lb turkey, 5 roast potatoes,1 cup gravy,6 brussel sprouts (optional) Blend thoroughly, drink, assume tryptophan coma.
Fri- Legs and Back- A struggle to maintain "gorgeous" form during last few reps
(I guess I need to shave more often...)
Sat- Kenpo tomorrow- took my son snowboarding for the first time today... he's awesome,

One week down- 12 to go


OK- this week was tough-
tues- plyometrics: do-able but I don't have the flexibility (yet) to do the low hamstring stuff.

wed- I did the full ab-ripper x and it made me cry I was in so much pain...

thurs, I was so sore all over that I considered skipping the 90 min yoga session, but it was exactly what I needed and I had a moment of extreme clarity that I could DO this thing and it will be enjoyable.

fri- legs and back- only able to do 5 pull-ups- my goal for mon is 8!

sat- My kids joined me for kenpo x today and we had so much fun - they see me being committed and want to join in- we've been tobogganing every day since wed so I've been getting lots of quad work climbing the hills!

...so I look forward to a day off tomorrow, but I'll go for a run- I start my triathalon training jan 18th so I need to get a good base going.

One down 89 to go

Well I built a chin-up bar from 3/4 inch plumbing pipe and got it finished in time for my first workout- chest and back- Note to self- don't eat so close to workout or nausea will ensue...
I got through the workout but by the end, I couldn't do any diamond or under the fence push-ups- I was spent. I managed half of the ab ripper X before retreating to the kitchen for my protein shake(27.95 at wal-mart... strawberry/banana: dee-lish!) I could hardly open the container I was so sore!
It's plyometrics today, so maybe skipping supper and doing it earlier will help.

All the holiday treats make it difficult to stay on track with eating, but it's been -6 this week, so the warmth factor should burn off those extra calories!~

fri, dec 12th, 2008 - Powell River, BC, Canada
Prologue- I'm 42 and in mediocre shape- I'm afraid of continuing down this road of gaining a few pounds a year and having a coronary at 55...!

I signed up for a triathalon in June and I'm a little intimidated- I want to be injury-free and this seems like the proverbial 'ounce of prevention' I need.

I need a kick in the pants to be excited about myself as an athlete and lets face it - if you don't look like one, it's hard to call yourself one.


Well, I got my p90x vids and books- I have my big-screen set up infront of my workout area- I am going to use some Ikea gymnastics rings as my chin-up bar...I hope it holds.

I have just got over a three-week flu, so already I dropped 5 lbs!- Although my strength is down a bit, I still plan to 'Bring It!" on Monday,(or pass out trying)
